About the Office of Administrative HearingsIn 1990, the Maryland Legislature created the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). Maryland law, through the Administrative Procedure Act of the State Government Article, provides that contested agency actions may be resolved through an impartial administrative hearing process.
"There is no substitute for experience." Not every lawyer has the same training, education and experience to effectively handle all types of cases, MVA hearings, MVA appeals or jailable traffic charges. When you retain Jack I. Hyatt in your MVA hearing, MVA appeal or when attempting to get your driver's license reinstated, you will get the very best opportunity to retain your license.
Our objective is to enable you to avoid a revocation or suspension of your drivers license and avoid multiyear insurance increases.   Upon receipt of your call, we will fully explain all of your options, proven defenses that work, how to save your license, the ways in which MVA cases can be dismissed and the very best way to proceed in your case.
If your license is revoked or suspended, we can assist you in avoiding the common mistakes and provide the most effective opportunity to get your license back in the shortest available time.
***If you are not satisfied with an MVA decision, we know exactly what your options are for an appeal and the very best way to proceed.***
Many cases that have a high potential to win are lost because the correct legal authorities were not properly set forth in the documents filed and not properly argued. "He who represents himself has a fool for a client." "Abraham Lincoln" This quotation is especially true in M V A cases that require specific knowledge and awareness of specific court decisions and statues.

He thoroughly investigated my case, detected technical mistakes made during my arrest and had my DUI and all other charges completely dismissed at trial. If you are charged with DUI or any traffic charge, he is the lawyer you need to call." ~~R.S. "I was extremely worried about my pending DUI charges due to two prior DUI convictions. Your aggressive representation was excellent in getting all DUI charges dismissed prior to trial. You seemed much more knowledgeable than my two prior attorneys and were always available to answer my questions." ~~T.D. "The result you obtained in my third DUI case was outstanding and far better than my second case in which I had a different lawyer that was not as knowledgeable as you. I wish I had known about you and switched lawyers earlier. Thanks." ~~M.J. "Your straight forward answers to my questions were greatly appreciated. Thanks again for getting my Federal DUI dismissed."~~ S.E. The outcome was better than I expected.” Thanks. ~~ I.A. “Your strategy, motions and aggressive representation was excellent in my violation of probation case. Administrative Law Judges ("ALJs"), highly qualified attorneys trained in a wide variety of areas of administrative law, hear these cases. The OAH, an independent state agency, provides high quality, fair, and efficient hearings. It has also reduced the cost of the hearing process by providing a centralized corps of professional judges and support staff. The OAH's Administrative Law Judges travel throughout the State of Maryland to provide hearings in the most convenient area possible for all of the State's citizens and businesses.
